About
UVA mission drives our focus on quality education for all and service to our neighbors in need.
Whis the UVA difference?
UVA High School is an Ontario Ministry of Education inspected online independent school that is run by highly qualified, experienced and caring teachers who put students first. We recognize that the world has changed, and people need options, but that these options should not lower the quality of education students receive. Our vision at UVA is to empower students to acquire, demonstrate, articulate, and value knowledge and skills that will support them as life-long learners, to participate in and contribute to the global world and practice the core values of the school: respect, tolerance and excellence.
UVA recognizes that the traditional educational system is no longer able to meet the diverse needs of today’s learners. Our alternative learning system allows students who require more independence to be successful. Our teachers, guidance, and administration staff have created a model that allows students to complete their courses and maintain complete control over their learning pace within the structure of the course content. We recognize the intrinsic value of student-teacher interaction for the success of our students. While many schools offer online, virtual education that is self-paced, our model differs in the way that our students can communicate on a regular basis with their teachers. From day 1 to graduation our students feel like they are part of a learning community with the confidence that their individual goals and dreams are as important to their teachers and support staff as they are to them.

“For me, it’s about the academic sphere. The University is interesting, conceptual. We acknowledge how important it is to be experimental.”
